Katherine Brading will be giving a colloquium talk on Friday, March 1, entitled “[How Physics Flew the Philosophers’ Nest](https://philosophy.fas.harvard.edu/event/colloquium-lecture-katherine-brading-duke-university).” All are welcome to attend. The day before Katherine’s colloquium talk, on Thursday, February 29, 3:00-5:00, Robbins Library, Second Floor Emerson Hall, we will host a special history workshop to discuss Emilie Du Châtelet’s treatment of time in her Foundations of Physics. Katherine Brading and Jeff McDonough will start things off by offering alternative readings of Du Châtelet’s views on time. The rest of the meeting will be devoted to discussion. Those who have the opportunity may wish to read Du Chatelet’s brief chapter on time, available in English translation [here](https://www.kbrading.org/_files/ugd/96f981_8163e2b4fb7346c987c7cf92d07d0a90.pdf).
