|
Year offered: 2024
Science is a defining feature of modern life. But what is science? How did it arise? What are its foundations and implications? In this graduate-level course, students will explore a wide-range of topics in the philosophy of science such as empiricism, evidence, induction, naturalism, realism, and explanation, as well as the relationships between science, philosophy, and society. They will emerge with a broad overview of the philosophy of science and will have the opportunity to pursue a sustained research project on a specific topic in the philosophy of science.
